THE NURTURE RETREAT

Nurture Fall - November 20-23, 2025

Four days and three nights full of hands-on creative workshops, sumptuous seasonal meals and time to connect with yourself.

Nurture is a soft place to land. A community that has your back. A weekend of creative nourishment and tending for entrepreneurs, leaders and caregivers.

Settle in and get cozy while you read about what’s in store at Nurture this Fall!

WHAT IS NURTURE, EXACTLY?

Nurture is magic. It’s the rich mystery of “it’s hard to describe until you’ve been there” meets the abundance of “greater than the sum of its parts.” It’s a four day sanctuary of personal, creative restoration and inspiration where you feast on good food with great people and are reminded of the sound of your own soul.

Nurture 2023

YOU'RE AMONG FRIENDS HERE IF

ME TOO

Hello, dear friend. I’m Sonja. For me, being a human on this planet, much less one who runs a business, has only ever gotten easier when I added good company, good food and a good sense of humour.

I started Nurture in 2015 out of an inner invitation to prioritize my own creative practice and that decision changed my life profoundly. It provided me a way through my sticky and unmet parts to a place of deep self regard, inspired creativity and clear purpose: I am on this planet to feed and connect people while unapologetically being myself. I want to facilitate a safe space to explore your own clarity of purpose and you-ness, too.

I love creating spaces to feed you on your journey as much as I love butter and chickens (which is A LOT). I’ve curated an incredible team of kindred spirits to help me feed you on other levels, whom have found both purpose and solace in their own creative practices and intuitive rituals.

We’ve put our hearts and souls into every detail of this retreat for you.

“A weekend woven together like a tapestry of engagement and stillness. The ambiance is that of a warm, welcoming embrace and meets you exactly where and how you are. Seemingly an event conspired by the universe to bring the right people together, in the right place, for the right conversations, the right explorations and the right revelations. A breath of fresh air. Curiosity, vulnerability and love. All of this married with mind blowing food that will fill the hungriest parts of your soul.”

WHAT IF YOU FELT YOUR CREATIVE SELF STIRRING AGAIN?

What if you found a space where you can really hear yourself and get some answers, or, more importantly, ask the right questions?

Imagine…You’ve signed up for Nurture, and you’re packing your bag and your heart for:

NURTURE IS FOR YOU IF …

Here's how some of our past attendees describe it:

Palak, Nurture Fall 2018

“I would say you just have to experience it. But to describe it – it’s a weekend that will allow you to re-connect with yourself and what matters. You’ll discover (and re-discover) parts of you that were buried away, and open up to connection and creativity in ways you might not know you could. The whole weekend felt like a much needed hug – all wrapped up in warmth and love. It’s exactly what I needed and hope I can bring some of the magic of it to my everyday life.”

Katie, Nurture Spring 2019

“It was exactly the balm I needed for the sore, burnt out edges of me; it was taking a breath and realizing it’s okay to put myself first.”

Nicole, Nurture Fall 2022

“This was one of the most special weekends in my life. It spoke my love language through and through. I left feeling so filled up, nourished, nurtured, honoured and deeply ‘considered’. The seemingly endless stream of thoughtful details and efforts. The time away, the unique and surprisingly delightful range of workshops. Just knowing that there are people out there with a similar love of connection, of creating and appreciating thoughtful details, and of sharing their unique offering to the world.”

NUTURE IS NOT FOR YOU IF ...

Nurture takes place at The Seed Lodge, a lovingly restored dormitory for a historic “Bad Girls” school near Meaford, Ontario. Gosh, we love the reclaiming of this space as much as the owner, Esther! Accommodations are cozy and comfortable, with delightfully whimsical vintage decor throughout. A bright, open space features a long harvest table where we’ll gather for workshops and sumptuous meals, with a cozy loft area with plenty of nooks and window seats to snuggle up with a good book or your journal. The 56 acre property features plenty of walking paths, lavender gardens, a wood-fired sauna and outdoor patio paradise. In their words, “Imagine a mash-up between a nostalgic summer camp, a funky 90’s youth hostel, and the warm coziness of grandma’s cottage—all with a creative twist!”

ACCESSIBILITY NOTES: The first floor of the main retreat house is wheelchair accessible, with one accessible bathroom on the same level (with accessible shower). Accessibility needs can be communicated at checkout and expanded upon in our attendee intake form so that we can follow up with you to ensure you will be comfortable. If you have questions in advance of checking out, please don’t hesitate to contact us at connect@nurtureretreats.com.

At Nurture, the food is a notable highlight – it’s what we are known for. From the ingredients to the styling and presentation, everything is custom-designed to best support and nourish you, the story of our retreat, and the work we are doing together. Nurture menus are vegetable-forward – inspired by a whole foods, seasonal approach featuring local, organic produce. Intentionality and organic sensuality shine through in all of the dishes. Everyone feels welcome and included, as allergies and food sensitivities are fully accommodated.

Breakfasts and Lunches are build-your-own from a smorgasbord of delightful, nourishing offerings that you can enjoy anywhere you like – the table; a hammock; your room; picnic-style on the lawn. Dinners and brunch on Sunday are sumptuous communal meals, at the gorgeously-styled harvest table featuring a family-style feast of platters heaped with sensual, seasonal bounty. We also have our Nurture SnasketTM – a basket full of snacks for you to graze on or indulge in should you feel peckish between meals.

YOUR CREATIVE SUPPORT TEAM

FOUNDER: SONJA SEILER (she/her)

Sonja Seiler (@nurtureretreats), founder of Nurture will be enlisting the help of seasonal produce to bring us a memorable menu you won’t be able to stop thinking about.

In her own words: “Hi, I’m Sonja and I can’t wait to feed you! I’ve always enjoyed feeding a crowd, but catering never felt like the right term. Instead, I consider myself a ‘food storyteller’. To me, food carries the ability to connect, to inspire and to create and reignite memories. Cooking and eating well, especially together, is a deep form of nurturing that often gets overlooked.

My food and my approach in the kitchen is less ‘chef’ and more ‘kitchen witch’ –  it is my biggest delight when you walk into the dining room at Nurture and your eyes light up at the feast of options before you! Each meal is a love letter, an invitation to awaken your creative impulses and a nutritiously delicious spell that hopefully has you feeling well fed, on every level.

StephPellett2023-95

CREATIVE PRODUCER: STEPHANIE PELLETT (she/her)

Stephanie (@stephpellett) is a magical being, who will be assisting with all aspects of the retreat to make sure you are comfortable and happy.

In her own words:

“Hi, I’m Steph. I’m a photographer and business coach for thoughtful entrepreneurs.

With my photography, I try to capture candid moments of true joy & connection, whether I’m documenting your creative business, a fun event, or a couple in love.

In business, my goal is to make your business more sustainable, more expansive, and ultimately more fun for you by streamlining your systems, supporting your business strategy, and helping you prioritize your self-care. My podcast, Slowpreneur: Business without the Busy, aims to spark conversations about new ways of living and working that support and honour our humanity.

In my spare time, you can find me reading romance novels and spending time with my dog Bruno (preferably simultaneously!). I also love swimming, exploring beautiful cities, and going out for tacos and margaritas.”

GUEST PHOTOGRAPHER: ABIGAIL WILLMS (she/her)

Found at: @awillmsphoto & my website

In her own words: “Those who know me, know that I love to climb, talk about food, flavour, cooking and tangerines, that I am enamoured with shells, food made over the fire, olives, early bedtimes, sunsets, coffee, and blue flowers.

Those who know me the best know that I love the water but still panic swimming back from the dock thinking a jackfish will nip my toes. They know that my favourite food is sushi, but am often too scared to eat raw fish, paralyzed by a long past memory of food poisoning. They know I am a decaf-drinking barista, that I love the company of people over 70, that I didn’t enjoy university, that I pretend to love pets more than I do, that I melt cheese on my ramen (weird or brilliant?), and that I got my drivers licence well into my twenties.

I love to be known. I also think it can sometimes feel less sexy, and less worthy of being romanticized.

I am here to hang my hat on the idea that your mundane life can keep company with the romantic. For the last year I have been photo journalling through an app my good friend put me on to. It has me entirely convinced that life can be documented and remembered in a way that connects you to beauty and aesthetic without leaving the real self and experiences behind.

I look forward to walking this line together!”

Nurture workshops explore creativity as alchemy. You’ll experience a window into the creative practices of a collection of artists from varied disciplines, specifically chosen because their art form infuses their lives with a framework of meaning. While each of the workshops will provide you with the basic skills needed for each offering and a tangible takeaway, you will be immersed in the act of creation as a way IN to your own Self. Your workshop facilitators will guide you on this journey of working with a variety of materials that have spoken to them, so that you can be inspired, ignite any areas of stagnancy, and learn about your own creativity through the lens of a creative pursuit from a facilitator who lives and breathes it.

“These were such unique workshops. None of the workshops were about “the thing” i.e. sewing, they were about a much deeper lesson, that “the thing” simply facilitated. I appreciated that they were structured to help you come to your own answers… it wasn’t about telling you what to do or how to think. It was also a fascinating look into how the facilitators approached their craft. I felt like we got to watch them nerd out and create workshops they were passionate about, but perhaps couldn’t run elsewhere, and that was really cool. I was also entirely overwhelmed by how thoughtful all the facilitators were, and how much they thought about how our experience would extend beyond the workshops. I don’t know how to put words to it, but what we learned in each will truly change how we show up in our lives.”

Lashawna Phillips- Nurture with Botanics

WORKSHOP - STEEPED IN MEMORY

Facilitated by: Lashawna Phillips (she/her), botanical tea artisan

Found at: @nurturewithbotanics

Working with: Dried florals, herbs and spices

In her own words: “The act of self-care came through discovering and making natural products like skincare and teas as a hobby. Creating was a therapeutic way for me to relieve the stressors and changes happening around me, and that’s where it all began. I embodied my grandfather’s joy of natural medicine and holistic living. I watched him experiment with herbs, making teas and oils to naturally heal and support his well-being. My vision then expanded to start my own small business to help others learn to nurture themselves in intentional ways, so that they can thrive through seasonal changes or stressors. Nurture with Botanics has evolved to be a tea focused wellness brand when I realized tea is more than just a delicious drink. There are endless ways to incorporate tea into your routine (not just by drinking them!) and so many supporting and healing properties. Nurture with Botanics is where I can combine my love for herbs, food and my passion for helping others thrive. Incorporating botanics into our self-care routines teaches us so much about enjoying the unhurried process of life. Plants take time to grow, and while they provide us with so much, they also require us to provide for them— a beautiful balance.”

Together, we’ll explore how the natural shift of seasons requires an inner shift as well, and how our daily rituals can be intentionally designed to help support us.

WORKSHOP - SEASONS OF CHANGE

Facilitated by: Danielle Wilkinson (she/her)

Found at: @rhythm.and.reverence

Working with: Foraged floral essences, moon cycles, seasonal plant support

In her own words: “As a yoga & meditation teacher, lunar facilitation guide, women’s circle tender, and earth medicine maker, I support women in re-membering their inherent wholeness through their connection with the natural world. I inspire the healing of soma and spirit with the seasons, as radical reclamation and knowing of the rhythms of earth, as our own.

This is re-membrance of the way of the feminine, earth as Divine Mother, mirror of rhythmic intelligence, of beauty and open heartedness and of weaving together in community, knowing we are never lost and never truly alone.

I am forever deepening my relationship with nature, allowing curiosity to inform my being. Becoming and unbecoming whilst journeying the seasons of my life. Honouring all of the women I have been and have yet to become. Inviting reverence for the sacred in everyday and practicing life as ceremony in devotion to the ordinary, everyday magic.

I am also an intuitive flower spirit guide, and creator of The Wild Kinship, a bespoke collection of ceremonial flower essences, which I wildcraft in partnership with the land, where I live. “

Together, we’ll explore bringing beauty to the mundane, the wisdom inherent in seasonal and moon cycles, and inviting in nature as a divination tool.

WORKSHOP - THE INNER FLAME

Facilitated by: Sonja Seiler, food storyteller at Nurture

Found at: @nurtureretreats

Working with: Seasonal produce, assorted hot peppers & spells for the future

In her own words: “Food has the ability to tell stories. Flavours, colours and textures evoke memories, act as a beacon of beauty and bring people together. I’m after inspiring you to bring beauty back to your daily table and ignite your dreams back to life through the lens of your own longings.”

Together, we’ll use the bounty of local fruits and vegetables and the dreams we’re tending to create our own custom hot sauces from scratch featuring a smorgasbord of unique ingredients. Ultimately, the finished sauces will represent the spicy momentum we wish to give our biggest desires and goals.

“The weekend was MAGNIFICENT. Really, that word does not do it justice. The experience was unsayable. From the nourishing food Sonja lovingly prepared by hand, to the artistry and creative expression and expansion explored through the workshops. The group of women – connected. Deeply. And in a matter of 48-hours became life-long friends. There is power in what Sonja is doing. There is power in bringing together sisters. There is power in creating a safe space for women to unfold, to undo, to let go. You find a new part of your soul on these retreats. It is forever engraved on my heart.”
